| NATIONAL AWARD FOR BEST FILM LAB |
The 53rd National Awards have been announced and Prasad Film Labs, Chennai was awarded the Best Film Lab for the film 'Sringaram'.
Prasad Film Laboratories, a pioneer providing intergrated laboratory services to the motion picture industry offers a wide range of film post production services through its laboratories in Mumbai, Chennai, Hyderabad, Bangalore, Trivandrum and huvaneswar.
As many as nine projects that used Prasad Group facilities have won the National Awards under various categories. We congratulate and thank them for using our facilities:

| 4K RESOLUTION DIGITAL INTERMEDIATE (DI) FOR SIVAJI – FIRST TIME IN INDIA |

Prasad EFX has color graded and digitally post produced the Rajnikanth starrer, AVM’s ‘Sivaji’ completely in the 4K digital pipeline. 2K resolution for DI is the standard in India. Even in Hollywood only the mega budget films are scanned in 4K resolution. Scanning an entire feature film in 4K resolution requires huge computing power, storage space and powerful graphics capability. A single frame scanned in 2K occupies 12 mb space and a 4K image would occupy 4 times more(48 mb).
Prasad EFX, taking into view the excellent imagery that had been cinematographed by Mr.K.V.Anand for Sivaji, felt that 4K would do justice in enhancing the digital image quality and flexibility in color grading. Prasad EFX, Chennai simultaneously worked on close to 85% of the VFX (Graphics) in ‘Sivaji’, also in the 4K resolution. The Tamil version release prints were done at Prasad Film Laboratories.

| Gandhi My father is the first hindi film completely scanned in 4K for the digital intermediate process.Unlike many of the films where the concept is about seeing how bright and colourful we could make the film, cinematographer David MacDonald and Director Feroz Abbas Khan worked on getting the full tonal range and a very realistic colour palette. It turned out to be a true test of the Digital Pipeline at Prasad EFX-Mumbai. |

| L.V.PRASAD FILM & TV ACADEMY CELEBRATES CONVOCATION DAY |

| The first batch of 25 students from L.V. Prasad Film and TV Academy received awards and certificates from film producer AVM Saravanan at the convocation day function held recently in Chennai. Prasad Group managing director Ramesh Prasad recalled that his father, L.V. Prasad, had wished to start an academy. Director Balu Mahendra was the chairman of the jury that selected the best films by the students under different categories. The awards went to Abhilasha for best direction, Ramesh Kumar for cinematography, Sony Sasankan Nanoo for sound and Abhishek K.S. for editing. |
